Ami Brabson Biography
Ami Brabson is an American actress known for appearing on Homicide: Life on the Street, Law & Order, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Brabson is also known as the wife of the late actor Andre Braugher. Andre was known for his roles as Detective Frank Pembleton in the police drama series Homicide: Life on the Street, and Captain Raymond Holt in the police comedy series Brooklyn Nine-Nine, among many others.
Brabson graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, where she majored in Radio, TV, and Film.

Brabson and her husband Andre, got married in 1991. They met and starred together on Homicide: Life on the Street.
During a 2020 interview, Andre spoke about their relationship and said; “We’re like-minded; we grew up in similar neighborhoods; we share the same values. She knows me like the back of her hand, and I’m grateful for that.”
The couple was blessed with three children, sons; Michael, Isaiah, and John. Andre and Ami were married until the time of his death on December 11, 2023.

“I made a choice along the way that Ami and those boys were too important to not spend quantity time with. The focus on celebrity-ness — it’s not real. So I just chose, in my own way, to sort of drop out.”
