Born in Louisiana, Jovin Webb is an American singer who is best known as a contestant on season 18 of American Idol which premiered on February 16, 2020.
Webb is also a talented drummer and guitarist. On his Facebook Page he describes himself as “Just an artist and musician from Louisiana who has a passion for music and wants to share it with the world!” and “a man of many hats.”

Webb is a musician. He is part of two bands and since 2017 he has been a member of the five-piece blues/rock band Bayou Bullets. The band has an EP out which was released before Webb joined them and they have a single, “Kiss and Tell”.
The other band Webb is part of is a Baton Rouge-based funk and jazz fusion band called Captain Green, where he is a singer. This band mostly play at events such as weddings and in 2017, they released an instrumental album called Jazz Noise.
Some of his musical influences include Prince, Paramore, Gucci Mane, Black Bayou 49, and Kings of Leon.

During his American Idol audition, Webb sang The Allmann Brothers’ “Whipping Post”. The performance saw him get a standing ovation from all three judges as well as earning him a ticket to Hollywood.
Judge Lionel Richie said; ” You officially brought the barbecue sauce to ‘American Idol. I don’t have to say a lot, except that is what barbecue sauce sounds like. That was moving.”
Judge Luke, on the other hand, was also so impressed he told him; ” That’s something only Louisiana could create. Man, I could sit and drink a lot of bourbon listening to that voice. I saw your whole life in that performance… perfect!”
“I got chills in my… cheekbones,” Katy Perry told him. “And I’ve had so much botox… It’s like I drank some kind of elixir and you ignited parts of me I had never felt before.”
