Elita Loresca Biography
A native of the Philippines, Elita Loresca is a Filipino-American newscaster who works for KTRK-TV in Houston, Texas.
Loresca attended Chino High School, in Chino California where she was a very good basketball player. She graduated in 1995. After graduating high school, Elita went on to attend Cal State Fullerton, where she is a graduate of the Broadcast Journalism Program. Elita also earned the Certificate of Broadcast Meteorology at Mississippi State University.

Since 2015, Loresca has been working for KTRK-TV in Houston. She began her career in Los Angeles as a news associate at KCBS-TV where was responsible for the assembly of scripts and teleprompter operations during the newscasts.
Loresca would later join KGET-TV in Bakersfield, California. Here, she worked as the noon weather anchor and assignment editor from 2001 to August 2002. She left KGET-TV in the year 2002 and joined KGPE-TV in Fresno, California. Elita worked as the morning and noon weather anchor.
Later in 2004, Elita joined WSVN Miami. On her first day at the station, she started forecasting the 2004 hurricane season with Hurricane Frances. It was one of the most devastating hurricanes that she covered. The other hurricane Elita covered was in 2005, where she contributed reports for her station from the National Hurricane Center during Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Rita, and Hurricane Wilma.
She is a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and The National Alliance to Nurture the Aged and the Youth (NANAY), a non-profit Filipino organization.
