Her mother was very strict about only singing gospel music. However, her father used to take her on secret car rides where she could sing R&B. Harris remained in the Gospel group for 15 years but after her father’s death, she decided to go solo and pursue R&B.

During her blind audition, Toneisha Harris performed “I Want to Know What Love Is” by Foreigner. Her tone, voice, passion, and artistry impressed the judges and she received a four-chair turn. She joined Team Blake.

When she was 13 years old, Toneisha was offered a recording contract but her mother wanted her to complete her education first. She, however, continued singing and even represented Maryland in Vickie Winans’ Rising Star Competition and placed second overall.

Harris also provided a vocal assist on Bruce Parham’s gospel hit, “Call Jesus” in 2007. Layer in 2011, she was named one of 20 finalists on BET’s Sunday Best, hosted by Kirk Franklin. She had performed “Here I am to Worship.” That was the same year she got a chance to audition on voice but her son fell ill.

Harris released a gospel single called “ITY (I Thank You),” in 2015. The song was being promoted by Jayez Pad Entertainment.
