Born in the United Kingdom, ShezAr is an English singer who is from a musical family, one of the who is popular musician Labrinth, her brother.

She was born to a family of musicians and has 8 siblings. when growing up, their home was filled with the sound of American gospel music, which their parents loved. The nine siblings formed a band called Mac 9 when they were young.

She auditioned on The Voice Uk Season 9 with a rendition of Aretha Franklin’s A Deeper Love. All four judges turned their chairs. Judge Meghan told her, ” You’re amazing” while judge Tom said to her; “The power, the commitment, I felt it.”
ShezAr opened up to them telling them that she is from a musical family and that Labrinth is her brother. She also revealed that Labrinth did not know she would be on the show saying: “I wanted this to be a decision I made for myself and I wanted to step in my own light and not have to be turned in any which way. And I wanted to surprise him as well!”
