A native of Oakland, California, Shemar Moore is an n American actor and former fashion model best known for his role as Malcolm Winters on The Young and the Restless.
Moore is also known for his role as Derek Morgan on CBS’s Criminal Minds from 2005 to 2016 as well as the third permanent host of Soul Train from 1999 to 2003.
He attended Gunn High School in Palo Alto and later joined Santa Clara University. At Santa Clara University, Moore majored in Communication, and minored in Theatre Arts and also used to model to pay his bills.
