Shannon Bennett Biography

Shannon Bennett was a 12-year veteran deputy at the Broward Sheriff’s Office who died on April 3, 2020, after being diagnosed with coronavirus.

He was also a school resource officer at Deerfield Beach Elementary School since January 2019.

He was first diagnosed with COVID-19 on Mar. 27, 2020.

At the time of his death, Benett was 39 years old. he had celebrated his 39th birthday in January 2020.

Speaking about Bennett’s passing, Sheriff Gregory Tony asked people to keep Bennett’s family in prayers. “I ask that you keep Shannon’s family members in your prayers, but keep Shannon within your heart. ” There is currently no more information available about his family.

Shannon Bennett COVID-19 and Death

Bennett first reported symptoms of Coronavirus on March 23, 2020, and on March 27, he tested positive for the virus. He sadly passed on from the virus on April 3, 2020.

News of Bennett’s passing was shared by The South Florida sheriff’s office on social media writing; ‘It is with a sad and heavy heart that we announce the passing of Deputy Shannon Bennett due to COVID-19. ‘Deputy Bennett served BSO for more than 12 years and was a fine deputy and individual.’

Broward County Sheriff Gregory Tony paid a personal tribute to Deputy Bennett and went on to people to keep his family in prayers in these trying times.
