Shana Taft is the wife of the late Jerry Taft, an American meteorologist who worked as chief meteorologist for WLS-TV in Chicago.

Shana and her husband Jerry were high school sweethearts and the couple got married when he was just 19 years old.

Taft and her husband Jerry had four children together. Their names are Skylar, Storm, Danna, and Jay.
Their son Storm graduated in 2019 from the University of Chicago where he studied Economics and Cinema and Media Studies. Storm previously worked as a freelance production accounting clerk at Sony Pictures Entertainment in Los Angeles until May 2020.
The couple’s daughter, Dana, is a Hot Yoga Studio Owner. According to her website, she began practicing yoga in 2000 and “immediately became a devout student.” Dana is also a certified personal trainer through ISSA.
She graduated from the University of Colorado with a BA in Journalism. She worked for 20 years in the business career before she eventually decided to pursue Yoga full time.
Their other daughter Skylar, works as the Director of Marketing at Top Nosh Hospitality. She previously worked at HiFi Social as a Business Development Associate and Event Planner.
Jerry Taft Death
Taft died on July 23, 2020, at the age of 77. Amongst his children who publicly paid tribute to him was his daughter Skylar who wrote on Facebook saying;
“Dear Dad, Words cannot even begin to express how much I’m going to miss you. I’m so lucky to have been your daughter. You filled every room with love and laughter. You were the most amazing dad and I know you’re going to be an amazing guardian angel. I love you so much. RIP. Love Skylar”
His other daughter, Dana, also wrote; “My Father, Jerry Taft, was a well-known meteorologist and weatherman in Chicago starting in 1975 on NBC channel 5 and moving over to WLS Channel 7 shortly thereafter. To me, he was just my Dad 💜. I will miss you terribly but I’ve actually missed you my whole life. RIP my Daddy.”
