Sandra Mitchell is an award-winning American journalist, who anchors the KCAL9 News at Noon. She has worked in Los Angeles for 15 years.
Mitchell graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Temple University School of Broadcast Journalism in Philadelphia.
She was awarded the Excellence in Broadcast Journalism Award by The National Journalism Honor Society of her alma mater in 2012.
Prior to joining KCAL 9 and CBS 2, Mitchell worked in Huntsville, Alabama, New Orleans, and St. Louis.

Mitchell works as an anchor for KCAL9 News at Noon. As an anchor, she has covered some big stories including, the death of Michael Jackson, as well as the deaths and funerals of former Presidents Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford.
She was also present covering the Newtown, Connecticut school massacre, the Boston Marathon bombing, and the Santa Monica College shooting rampage.
During the deadly shootout with former LAPD officer Christopher Dorner, Sandra was the first anchor on television to cover it live as it happened. She also did live coverage of the election of the new Pope and the birth and introduction of the Royal Baby Prince George.
