Rayshard Brooks Death
Brooks met his death after two police officers received a complaint at Wendy’s restaurant on University Avenue that he was asleep in his car at a drive-thru.
According to the police officers, they gave him a sobriety test, which he reportedly failed, after which they tried to place him into custody.
“During the arrest, the male subject resisted and a struggle ensued. The officer deployed a Taser,” GBI spokeswoman Nelly Miles said.
Brooks reportedly managed to take the Taser away from the officer and began running away from the two police officers. They began chasing him down and eventually fired 3 shots.
Brooks was taken to the hospital where he died when in surgery.
