Pat Sajak Biography
A native of Chicago, Illinois, Pat Sajak is an American television personality, former weatherman, and talk show host, best known as the host of the American television game show Wheel of Fortune.
Sajak served in the US military as a disc jockey during the Vietnam War for the American Forces Vietnam Network. He also hosted the same Dawn Buster radio show that Adrian Cronauer had.
He graduated from Farragut High School in 1964, then went to Columbia College Chicago while working as a desk clerk at the Palmer House hotel.

Wheel of Fortune originally aired as a daytime series on NBC from January 6, 1975, to June 30, 1989. After some changes were made to its format, the daytime series from July 17, 1989, to January 11, 1991, moved to CBS.
It later returned to NBC from January 14, 1991, until it was canceled on September 20, 1991. The popularity of the daytime series led to a nightly syndicated edition being developed. The show premiered on September 19, 1983, and has aired ever since. The syndicated version has been hosted continuously by Sajak and White.

On Rugrats, Pat is the spokesman for a Publishers Clearing House-like multi-million dollar sweepstakes that Chas wins in the episode Chuckie is Rich, and Chas’ reaction is exactly what would happen if he was a contestant on Wheel. His son, Pat Sajak Jr., makes an appearance as one of the children at the daycare center for wealthy children.

Pat won a contest on WLS radio’s Dick Biondi Show to be a guest teen deejay. While studying at Columbia College Chicago, his broadcasting instructor Al Parker told him that a local radio station (WEDC) was looking for a newsman and he applied for the job and was hired to work from midnight to 6:00 AM.
Later in 1968, Pat joined the US Army and was sent to Vietnam, where he served as a disc jockey on Armed Forces Radio.
On The Military Channel’s program, An Officer and a Movie, Pat admitted to botching President Richard Nixon’s 1969 Christmas broadcast to the troops; he accidentally cut the feed off prematurely. Upon realizing the error, Pat decided it would be best not to resume the feed.
