Naya Rivera who was born as Naya Marie Rivera is an American born actress, singer, and model. Rivera began her career as a child actress and model, appearing in national television commercials before landing the role of Hillary Winston on the short-lived CBS sitcom The Royal Family at the age of four (1991-1992).
For her role in the show, Naya received a nomination for a Young Artist Award. Naya received her breakthrough role as an adult as Santana Lopez on the Fox television series Glee which aired from 2009 to 2015, this was after doing lots of series as a recurring actress as well as a guest actress as a teenager.
Her role on Glee helped her receive nominations for numerous accolades. In 2011, Rivera was signed to Columbia Records as a solo artist. In 2013, she released a single tiled Sorry featuring rapper Big Sean. In 2014, Naya made her feature film debut as Vera in the horror film At the Devil’s Door.
She also had a recurring role as Blanca on the third season of the Lifetime television series Devious Maids at the Beginning of 2015. Marie Rivera was declared missing person after her four-year-old-son was found alone in Rivera’s entered boat at Lake Piru in Fillmore, California on July 8, 2020. Naya is currently presumed dead by officials, but the body has not yet been recovered.

In October 2017, Rivera canceled their separation. She was later arrested in late November 2017 and charged in Kanawha County, West Virginia with misdemeanor domestic battery against Dorsey after she allegedly hit him in the head during an altercation over their child. Her bond was set at $1,000, and she was released and picked up from the courthouse by her father-in-law.
Rivera subsequently refiled for divorce in December 2017. Later that month, Rivera and Dorsey agreed to temporarily share joint custody of their son. In January 2018, the domestic battery charge was dismissed at the request of Dorsey, who “notified both the prosecution and the defense counsel that he was no longer seeking prosecution and has confirmed he was never at any time injured by the conduct of Ms. Rivera.”
On June 14, 2018, Rivera and Dorsey finalized their divorce. In January 2015, during her appearance as a guest host on The View, Rivera alluded to her possible bisexuality. Rosie O’Donnell remarked on a recent study that showed that bisexual women were more likely to have mental health problems than lesbians, to which Rivera replied, “Rosie, no wonder I’m crazy. Naya Marie Rivera was declared a missing person on July 8, 2020, after her four-year-old-son, Josey was found alone in Rivera’s rented boat at Lake Piru. Three hours after Rivera left the dock around 5:00 pm PDT, another boater discovered Josey asleep on the boat with his life jacket on.

After the disappearance of American actress, Naya Rivera, a search and recovery operation was ordered this was after a search and rescue operation found no trace of her. The search and recovery operation included the use of side-scanning sonar, divers, sniffer dogs, helicopters, and a remote-operated submarine vehicle equipped with cameras. After the search, her body was recovered on Monday, 13th July 2020. During a news conference on the shore of the lake on Monday, Sheriff Bill Ayub of the Ventura County Sheriff Department said police were “confident” the body was that of Rivera. He also added that there was no indication of foul play or that she took her own life.
