Matthew Yglesias is an American journalist and blogger who works as a writer on economics and politics. He previously worked for Vox Media as an editor.
Yglesias left his position as an editor and columnist for the news website Vox, which he co-founded in 2014, to publish through Substack.
Yglesias attended the Dalton School in New York City. He later went on to join Harvard University, where he studied philosophy.
He began his blogging career in 2002 while still in college. At the time, he mainly focused on American politics and public policy issues often approached from an abstract, philosophical perspective.
