On July 4, 2015, won against Joey Chestnut an eight-time defending champion in the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest. In 2016, he came second to Chestnut. Chestnut had a record of 70 hotdogs while Stonie had a record of 53 hotdogs.
In 2017, Stonie peaked third behind Carmen Cincotti. His record was 48 hot dogs while Carmen’s was 60. On July 4, 2019, Stonie placed fourth behind Joey Chestnut’s 71, Darron Breeden’s 50, and Geoffrey Esper’s 47 making this his ninth appearance.
