A native of California, Marna Michele ios an American singer and songwriter who is a contestant on season 18 of American idol.
Michele has a rare type of disability known as ARTHROGRYPOSIS. She used braces throughout her childhood to help her walk but she eventually ended up using a wheelchair.

Michele is in a relationship with her boyfriend, Robert whom she met on tinder. Michele says that for the six months that she was on tinder, she received many ‘inappropriate questions’ about her disability.
“‘ I would even get told I was not worth loving because of my disability,” she said. However, she eventually met Robert and they have been together since then.
Michele narrated how she and Robert started dating saying; “Robert and I chatted for two weeks, then he asked me on our first date and he still had not mentioned my wheelchair.
“So, by the time our first date came up I ended up texting him and asking if he knew I was disabled and in a wheelchair and he replied with “Yeah, it’s on your profile, I don’t care, that doesn’t matter.”
She says Robert never made me feel incapable or less than. He is supportive and non-judgmental. They have been dating since 2016.

Michele discovered her love for music when she was 12 years old. She says that her whole family is musically talented. “My mother has a beautiful voice, and to my surprise, we sound almost identical. It’s as if she passed down her gift directly to me.”
Michele says that singing is where she feels almost capable of anything. “I feel as if I can express any emotion through song. Love, sadness, joy, fear…anything. I have this dream to one day be the first wheelchair-bound superstar,” she said on her own blog known as Crippled is Beautiful.
She hopes to one day sing at the Superbowl whether the national anthem or the half time.
Some of her achievements are singing with the Long Beach Symphony at the age of 13, winning a singing competition called OC Icon competing with over 200 people at the age of 17, as well as singing The National Anthem for The Angels stadium at the age of 25. She also performed The National Anthem with the Pacific Symphony in front of 15,00 people at the age of 25 years.

During her American Idol audition, Michele sang her own rendition Lady Gaga’s “A Million Reasons.” She impressed the judges and got a ticket to Hollywood. Luke Bryan acknowledged her range and also gave her a little bit of advice saying, ” I just want you to have a little more cry in your voice.”
Lionel Richie also offered some advice to her telling her that he noticed she was in a hurry to get to the high note, but all he wanted was for her ” to concentrate on the story you are telling because it becomes flat in terms of emotion.”
