Prior to auditioning for American Idol, Knight told the judges that he works as a part-time delivery guy at his local shop in Philadelphia.

As for his music career, Knight has already released an EP known as ” Small Victories.” It was released in 2019 and it consists of songs like “Just Kiss Me,” “Window Shopping,” “State Lines,” “Nights Underneath,” and “Change.”

During his American Idol audition, Knight sang an original song called Chance. The song is a tribute to his friend, Russell, who committed suicide. Knight impressed the judges with the performance and received three yeses sending him to Hollywood.

Hollywood Round

During Hollywood Round, Knight was put in the “Pop” category of the Genre Challenge, alongside Genavieve Linkowski, Robert Taylor, Demi Rae, and Geena. He sang “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. He advanced alongside Genavieve, Robert, Demi, and Geena.

Knight later paired in a duet called “3:15” with Francisco Martin. They sang “Break Even” by The Script and both of them advanced.

On to his final solo performance, Knight sang “Hold Me While You Wait” by Lewis Capaldi. He was shown to the same deliberation room as Shannon Gibbons, Jeb Vonderbruegge, Jovin Webb, Nick Merico, Just Sam, Robert Taylor, Geena, Bilaal Avaz, Dillon James, Aliana Jester, and Demi Rae. Everyone in the room advanced.

Hawaii Round

During the Hawaii round, Knight sang “Castle on the Hill” by Ed Sheeran and although the judges felt that performance wasn’t his best, they sent him through to the top 20.
