Lauren Zakalik Biography
A native of Michigan, Lauren Zakalik is an American 3 time Emmy award journalist working as a General Assignments Reporter for WFAA 8 News.
Zakalik attended the University of Michigan where she earned her bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature/Letters in 2005.
Later in 2006, she joined Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University to earn her master’s degree in journalism.
She began her journalism career at WILX-TV in Lansing, Michigan where she worked as a Television News Reporter at WILX-TV from September 2006 to November 2010.

“That is what I love most about working here. I work with people who see the big picture. They see a ‘Yes’ where others might see a ‘No.’ They see a ‘Cool! How should we move forward?’ instead of a ‘Sorry. Better luck next time.’ And that allows me to do so much more, reach so many more people, and, hopefully, impact more people’s lives.”
