Loomer is the 2020 Republican nominee to represent Florida’s 21st congressional district in the U.S. House of Representatives. She is running against incumbent Democratic Representative Lois Frankel.

Loomer, on August 2, 2019, filed with the Federal Election Commission to run as a Republican for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives from Florida’s 21st congressional district.
The district is represented by Democrat Lois Frankel. On August 18, 2020, she won the Republican primary, defeating five opponents. Loomer received 14,500 votes out of 34,000 cast.
Laura Loomer Anti Muslim
Loomer has made several headlines due to her anti Muslim comments that she has made over the years. For example, in 2017, after the November 1st terrorist attack in New York City, Loomer tweeted saying she was late to a conference because she could not find a “non-Muslim cab or @Uber @lyft driver”.
Loomer went on to call for the creation of a new ride-sharing company that did not employ Muslims. This was after it became known that the suspect in the attack was a former driver for Uber.
Following those series of tweets, Uber and Lyft announced that Loomer had violated their guidelines and was banned from using their services.
Laura Loomer Conspiracy Theories
Loomer has been known to promote conspiracy theories mostly related to mass shootings. For Example in 2018, Loomer claimed that the school shootings that happened in February that year, in Parkland, Florida, and in May in Santa Fe, Texas were staged.
She also claimed that the perpetrator of the 2017 Las Vegas shootings was affiliated with ISIS.
