After auditioning for the roles of Bubbles and Bunk Moreland, Reddick was cast as Cedric Daniels in HBO’s The Wire. In 2008, he was cast as Matthew Abaddon on ABC’s hit series Lost. He was the third of five actors cast in the drama from HBO’s hit series Oz. Producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse expressed interest in Reddick for the role of Mr. Eko, but he was unable to do so due to his commitments on The Wire.
In 2007, Reddick released his debut album Contemplations & Remembrances, and in early 2008, he was cast in a key role in the Fringe pilot, alongside fellow Oz actor Kirk Acevedo. Phillip Broyles, the FBI’s head of paranormal investigations, was played by him. “He’s a real hard-ass, but he’s still one of the good guys,” Reddick said of the hard-driving character. J. J. Abrams co-created and produced Fringe, much as he did with Lost.
Reddick starred in the thriller White House Down, which was released in 2013. He is a co-producer and star of the YouTube web series DR0NE. Reddick first appeared in the action thriller film John Wick in 2014, playing Charon, a role he has reprised in both sequels. In the 2014 video game Destiny, he voiced the character, Commander Zavala.
In the same year, he began playing Chief Irvin Irving in the Amazon Prime series Bosch. Reddick said Daniels, his character from The Wire, was “a cop at heart” when comparing his three major positions as police commanders.
Reddick starred in the post-apocalyptic horror film The Domestics in 2016. On June 28, 2018, the film was released. In the 2017 video game Horizon Zero Dawn, he voiced the character Sylens. In the upcoming sequel Horizon Forbidden West, he will reprise his role. Reddick made his film debut in Godzilla vs. Kong in 2021.
