Beinecke Michel graduated from Yale University. From 1995 to 1997, she worked as a graphic designer at Grenfell Press, a publisher of art books in New York.
In 2013, she founded an art gallery known as Planthouse Gallery, which is New York City. Her great grandmother, Jules Bache, amassed a collection of art. Most of it was donated to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York.
Beinecke Michel also serves on the boards of the International Print Center New York and Wave Hill, a public garden and cultural center in the Bronx, according to her website. She is also a member of the Victory Garden Collective formed in 2016 in response to the presidential primaries.
