Just Sam whose real name is Samantha Diaz is an American singer who is best known as the winner of season 18 of American Idol.

I thank her so much for that and never giving up on me ! There isn’t enough money in the world to repay her for ALL THAT she’s done for me !

“I’m going to be big someday and that’s all thanks to her ! She Just wants to see me make it and I SWEAR I’m almost there . right now, all the moves that I’m making is for my grandmother 🙏🏾💯‼️ she’s going to see me on tv someday ! She’s never ever going to have to work again .”

During her American Idol audition which took place in Washington D.C, Sam sang “You Say” by Lauren Daigle but stopped because of her nerves. She went on to sing “Rise Up” by Andra Day, and the judges voted yes, sending her to the next round.

Hollywood Round

During the Hollywood round, Sam was “Rise Up” by Andra Day. In that category, she was alongside “Rise Up” by Andra Day. Sam sang “Hearts Ain’t Gonna Lie” by Arlissa and it was later revealed that all of the advanced.

For her duet, she was paired with Sheniel Maisonet and the duo sang, Both of them advanced.

During her final solo performance, Sam sang “I’m Here” by Cynthia Erivo. She was placed in the same deliberation room as Shannon Gibbons, Jeb Vonderbruegge, Jovin Webb, Nick Merico, as well as Robert Taylor, Geena, Bilaal Avaz, Dillon James, Aliana Jester, Demi Rae, and Louis Knight. All of them advanced.

During the Hawaii round, Sam sang “Como La Flor” by Selena entirely in Spanish. Later on, the judges revealed to her that she had done enough to become a Top 20 semifinalist.
