John Holiday Biography
A native of Rosenberg, John Holiday is an operatic countertenor and a voice teacher at the Conservatory of Music at Lawrence University.
He is also a gospel and jazz singer. Holiday auditioned and competed on season 19 of The Voice on NBC.
John Holiday Education
Holiday attended and graduated from Lamar Consolidated High School in Rosenberg, Texas. While in high school, he was was the first chair tenor in the All-State Mixed Choir sponsored by the Texas Music Educators Association fro two years.
He was also designated one of the Most Outstanding Performers in Texas by the University Interscholastic League.
Holiday later went on to join Southern Methodist University (SMU) in 2003 and graduated from the university in 2007 with a bachelor of music degree in vocal performance.
While at the university, Holiday won first place at the TEXOMA region of the National Association of Teachers of Singing several times. He also won the Concerto Competition of SMU’s Meadows School of the Arts in 2007.
From 2007 to 2008, he studied voice at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. Holiday later joined the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and graduated with a master’s degree in vocal performance in 2012.
Holiday also holds an Artist Diploma in Opera Studies from Juilliard. He obtained the diploma in 2018.
