Lyne had three daughters from her previous marriage to ex-husband Phillip Lyne. Phillip and Lyne divorced in 2014. After the death of their mother, a GoFundMe fundraising webpage was opened for them and it managed to raise over $270,000.

Ingrid Lyne Boyfriend

Lyne was dating a guy named John Charlton. The two had met through an online dating website and had been dating for approximately one month.

On the evening of April 8, 2016, Lyne and Charlton went to a Seattle Mariners baseball game together but Lyne was reported missing the next day.

Her boyfriend, Charlton was arrested and charged with first degree two days after the body of Lyne was found. At the time of his arrest, he was a homeless day laborer. Charlton also had a criminal record in six states. He had convictions for aggravated robbery, felony theft, grand theft auto, assault, and third-degree larceny.

Lyne attended Canyon del Oro High School in Tucson, Arizona, where she graduated from in 1993. She went on and enrolled in the University of Arizona and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1997.

At the time of her death, Lyne was working as a nurse at Seattle’s Swedish Medical Center.

Ingrid Lyne Disappearance and Death

Lyne was last seen by her friends on April 8, 2016. Later on April 9, her ex-husband, Phillip arrived at her home to drop off their children but there was no one answering the door. He went on call Lyne’s mother who came with a spare key and searched the residence.

However, there was no sign of Lyne although her wallet, purse, and cellphone were found in the home. Her mother used the cellphone they found to text Lyne’s boyfriend Charlton and later called the police. When the police came, they discovered blood, human tissue, and a pruning saw in Lyne’s bathroom. They also discovered trash bags that turned out to be identical to those her body would later be found in.

Lyne’s dismembered body was approximately 10 miles (16 km) from her home in a Seattle recycling bin.

John Charlton Arrest and Sentence

Charlton was arrested on April 11, 2016, as the primary suspect in Lyne’s death. He was charged with first-degree murder and auto theft and was held in the King County Jail on $US5 million bail. as for the injuries that he had on his body, he claimed that he had blacked out on a downtown Seattle sidewalk and woke up with facial injuries and cuts to his body.

On October 2, 2017, appearing in a King County courtroom on Monday, he pled guilty to all charges against him, including the murder and dismemberment of Lyne.

Charlton was sentenced to 27 years and 9 months in prison, on January 5, 2018.
