Devin Willock was an American football player who played as an offensive lineman for the University of Georgia’s football team, the Georgia Bulldogs.
According to his University of Georgia bio, Willock was dealing with a foot injury during his senior season of high school ball, which slowed him considerably as he entered UGA. He spent the first two years getting his body in shape.
Willock turned a corner during the 2022 spring and preseason camps, where he was able to showcase his skills. He was a Risk Management and Insurance major.

Devin Willock Accident / Death
On the morning of January 15, 2023, around 2:45 am, Willock was involved in a car accident on Barnett Shoals Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Athens-Clarke County police said two people were killed in a car crash; the other one being 24-year-old Chandler LeCroy, who was the driver of the car.
According to the University of Georgia Athletics, two other people, a 21-year-old man, and a 26-year-old woman were seriously injured in the accident. Both were members of the football program, and are currently in stable condition.
The 21-year-old male is UGA offensive lineman Warren McClendon, who declared for the 2023 NFL Draft on Saturday.
UGA Statement on Devin Willock and Chandler LeCroy
“The entire Georgia family is devastated by the tragic loss of football student-athlete Devin Willock and football staff member Chandler LeCroy. Two other members of the football program were injured in the accident. They are both in stable condition, and we will continue to monitor their status with medical personnel.
“Devin and Chandler were two special people who meant so much to the University of Georgia, our football program and our athletic department. We ask that everyone keep their families in your prayers during this very difficult time.
“The UGA Athletic Association will work with our medical team as well as our mental health and performance personnel to make sure we are providing the best support possible for our staff and student-athletes who are processing this grief. We can provide no further comment at this time but ask that everyone continue to keep those involved in your prayers.”
