Demi Rae Music

Rae was introduced to music at a young age by her father. When she was 9 years old, Rae wrote what she wanted to do with her future in a book.

Titled “The Future,” the book reads; “I would like to be a singer for my career in the future. When I get old enough, I will strive for my goal, and I will go on American Idol.” She brought that book to her American Idol audition.

Demi Rae American Idol Audition

During her American Idol audition, Rae sang Noah Cyrus’ song “Mad at You.” The three judges loved her voice and her performance.

When asked by Katy perry whether she pursued music professionally, she said no. The judges asked her why she has not and Rae said it was because she was insecure. She said; “I get really insecure. Because I don’t look like the other girls. It’s really hard with social media and stuff.”

“I get anxiety, but the only place I’m comfortable is when I’m doing this.” Katy replied to her saying, “There’s probably not someone who looks like you because you’re supposed to be the one that looks like you. You know? That influences all the girls that look like you that feel like they don’t look like anyone else!”

“Now we just need to let you know how great you are and lift you up and get behind you and encourage you every step of the way,” judge Luke Bryan told Rae.

“If this is how you sing scared to death and with no confidence, I can’t imagine what you’ll be when you realize, ‘Oh my God, I’ve got this,” Lionel Richie told her. “Because that’s what you’re going to need from this point.”
