Carter Rubin Biography
A native of Shoreham, Carter Rubin is a 14-year-old American singer who is best known as a contestant on season 19 of The Voice. He is on Team Gwen Stefani.
During his auditions, Rubin sang Lewis Capaldi’s song “Before You Go.” He received two chair turns from Gwen Stefani and John Legend.
In 2018, he was part of News 12 Long Island’s Sounds of the Season series.

Rubin’s mother is the founder and president of the autism advocacy group Families in Arms. There is currently no information in regards to his father’s career.
Carter Rubin Brother
Rubin has a brother named Jack who was diagnosed with autism when he was 2 years old. He spoke about their bond while talking with the coaches after his blind auditions.

Carter Rubin Grandfather
Rubin was inspired musically by his grandfather, Ric Mango. His grandfather is a guitarist and was a backup vocalist for Jay and the Americans.
He performed locally at venues including what was then the Westbury Music Fair and the summer concert series in Long Beach.

Rubin auditioned with Lewis Capaldi’s song “Before You Go” and received two chair turns from Gwen and John Legend.
“You do not look like your voice, OK? … I cannot believe what I’m hearing and seeing right now. This is a shock.” Stefani said after hitting her buzzer and turning.
“Where is this person who was singing?” coach Blake Shelton joked.
“You sounded polished, you sounded strong, your voice has control, which a lot of people your age wouldn’t have. And your tone is just piercing and brilliant and it just shimmers out there.” John Legend commented.
“You have a really great voice, especially finding out that you’re 14. That’s insane.” Kelly Clarkson complimented him.

“My son, he’s 14 years old, so I could be like a mom figure for you because I am a mom so you could feel very comfortable around me.
“I loved your voice. When you got into your real full, full voice, the tone was so beautiful, it was shocking to me.”
