Bailey Rae Biography

A native of Oklahoma, Bailey Rae is an American country singer/ songwriter who became widely known after her audition and competing on The Voice.

She released her first single, “Never Been This Lonely,” in January 2020.

The song was nominated for Texas Country Music Association 2020 Songwriter of the Year and Josie Music Awards 2020 Contemporary Country Song of the Year.

Later in June 2020, Rae released her second single, “I’m In Love.” She is a Josie Awards 2020 Young Adult Vocalists of the Year Nominee and Texas Country Music Awards 2020 Young Artist Nominee.

Rae is also a guitar, ukulele, and vocal coach for beginners at Shawnda Rains Studios.

Rae auditioned on season 19 of The Voice singing “Does My Ring Burn Your Finger” by Lee Ann Womack. She got one chair turn from coach John Legend and ultimately joined his team.

“You have the distinction of being the first country artist that I’ve had the privilege of coaching,” John Legend told her after the audition.

Rae began pursuing her music career at the age of 13 years although she had been singing in church for years prior to that.

By the time she was 13 years old, Rae was traveling all over the country and performing in opries. She is the 2020 Ambassador for the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame.

Rae is also a vinyl collector and has over 100 albums from artists like Dolly Parton, Ernest Tubbs, Merle Haggard, and Emmylou Harris. Those albums once belonged to her Great-Great Granny Grunt.

According to her website, although Rae and Granny Grunt never met, ” Bailey feels connected to her through music. And that’s the connection she hopes to pass on to her audience each time she performs on stage.”
