Fiedler revealed that she was not ready to be a mom since she could not provide her baby with the life she would want to. That is why she chose a family to adopt her baby.
“The family that I chose is going to be able to give her everything she wants. I know I’m not going to be able to do that,” she said, adding that it will be an open adoption.

During her audition, Fiedler performed Etta James’ “Trust in Me.” Her powerful voice impressed the judges and by the time she was done singing, the all applauded her. “That was with a foot in her rib,” Luke Bryan joked.
“You were totally, absolutely, positively in control,” Lionel Richie told her. Luke also called her sound timeless. Katy Perry told her that she nailed the performance and told her that she has “a really big shot at going very far if you want to.”
“We’re here to support you through this process. You’re not alone!” Katy added.
She managed to get the golden ticket to Hollywood. “Maybe you’re not ready to be a mom, but you are ready to become an American Idol,” Katy told her as she handed her the ticket.
